I am wanting to start a small business out of my house . A embroidery business. I figure i need about 10k to start but where would i get the money ? A small business loan ?

I plan to start a small business advising others how to start small businesses. Any advice or pointers?

I want to start a small business more of an internet business. I don’t need much money to start just a big clientel. I dont know whether i need a license or schooling? It’s really not a complicated business but just kinda need the quick guide of how to get started. Or if i can just open a website and start advertising and just go?

I am planning to start my own small retail store in or near Glendale CA. I am thinking about opening a type of dressup/makeover store for kids where they can come and play dressup, have makeovers and even purchase costumes. The type of place that will also have birthday parties etc…Mostly geared towards girls 10 and under. My dad is planning on helping me to start this business and he thinks that that it will cost about $50-60k to get started. I want to start a business plan….I know what I want to do…I just don’t know yet how to do it or how much it will cost to start and would like opinions from others who know a bit about small retail stores and starting them. My friend and I are looking to start a small baking business that we would do on the side of our other jobs and school. We want to know about the legalities of starting a business that would be community based only and small. Can anyone tell us if we need any types of permits or inspections for something this small?

I speciallize in audio/video and wanting to start a business with hotels and an information channel. I’m needing investors and not sure how to find people with money and what to do to get it.

The best time to start a small business is probably during a recession because the big boys are laying off people, and are less able to service would-be clients, whereas a new small business has almost no overheads to speak of, and can either take business away from the big guys, or get sub-contracted jobs from them.

And other big advantage is that a new and very small company has over the big guys is that if you make a mistake then it won’t cost very much, whereas just imagine the cost involved in having to recall tens of thousands of cars, or appliances or whatever.

What considerations do you have to take into account? like legalities, expenses, transport, location etc

which state is more fruitful to start a business? Im sure New York is on top of that list…but what others?
