how would my family start a small business?

my father is an auto technician (he fixes cars and installs systems) my sister and i (21 and 19yrs) have been thinking that maybe it would be a good idea to start his own business we would all be business partners but we dont know how to go about starting a business. would this be a good time to start a new business? even though the economy is very fragile? what do we need to do? please help thanks

Although the economy is fragile, some businesses still prosper. You need to do some research and determine how many other local business offer the same service that you want to offer. Also, how much money do you have to invest, how much it will cost to start up a business and how are you going to get customers?
