My fiance wants to stay at home to watch our kids, but she also is interested in starting a business. ideas?

This would be an at-home business… She is not sure if she wants to run some kind of online store or act in some other role, but I’m looking for any ideas. Products to sell, people to work with, and most importantly, businesses she can make a little money in. I figure there are some people out there who can help me with this.

Is she good at crafts? She could start an arts & crafts store from home.
Painting, photography, maybe?
Does she like to type? She could do data entry for a company from home.

Im the same as your wife, and yes I do have many ideas, she could be authentic and open a home coffee shop or she could sell stuff from magazines to the neighbors and people around. Or she could do some home projects or even buy some magazines that would teach her how to do some jewerly (fantasy of course) but people do buy it.

First of all, what is she good at, what are her interests, and how much time is she willing to spend at it. Doing typing for local businesses is a good idea if you have a computer at home. A consulting business of any kind. Do not do any of the Mary Kay/Avon makeup jobs because you have to put time and money into it to make anything and so many people complain about it not working for them. Send me an email of some of her interests or education back ground and I will come up with some more.
Now, I’m nowhere near close to your situation, I’m 15, but I’ve thought about this on more than one occasion; What happens if I have young kids that need me home with them but still want to have my own bussiness?
Now, I would suggest something she enjoys doing and something she’s good at. There are plenty of home bussiness’ and not all of them have a physical prouct to sell. But, if you are into the whole product thing, invest some money in hot items, like electronics, and use eBay. Tons of people have done it. Maybe she’s a good potter or has another artstic talent, try selling that.
But hey, if she doesnt want to do that or doesn’t like the idea, have her go through some things she enjoys doing that you can maipulate into a profit. Interior design is profitable, even though I’m pretty sure clients would prefer you have some type of degree in this area, but if she has a sense of decerating go ahead and use that.

Hello their, I’m very new to the home base business myself started in Jan. of 07. I am a independent consultant for Cookie Lee. I started because of the 50% profit it has. Their are two options you can go with to start. I chose the more pricie one because it gave me more jewelry to start with. I heard all the bells and whisles about how I could when a trip every year and a car. But I’m finding out it’s hard. Not hard to sell.I just set up my display and people buy. But I have a hard time recuriting. I do really good on my sells and because I make 50% for me 1 show a week is all I need to give me the extra money plus it gets me out of the house to have some fun. I love that I was able to go to Cookie Lee and pick out my own Jewelry their is no pre packaged start up kit. I love the group I joined with we meet once a month to share ideas and give support to others. So far with my adventure I am very happy. I am willing to share with you two what my family has done, but it’s better to share it on a personal level. I used to answer these questions openly, but was told it was in violation of the guidelines.

I am in the same situation. My wife would love to stay home with our two kids (she is also pregnant with the third), and I would love for her to be able to stay home also.
