For new business owners, having customers find you can be one of the many challenges in getting your business off the ground. While many believe that the internet is the best way to gain market exposure, if your business is focused on one specific geographic area, going online can be unproductive. You will still want a professional website to serve as an online brochure and for some reason many people have the opinion that an online presence increases the credibility of a business.
While direct mail marketing has fallen out of favor for many businesses, it remains one of the best bargains for the money. A professionally deigned mail piece with a well written message can mean more than thousands of internet ads or emails that might be considered spam. If you are not able to design and write good ad copy, hire someone to do it for you and then follow their suggestions.

Irritable Online Marketing Syndrome (IOMS) more commonly known as information overload may be the number one barrier to Web site marketing success. Whether you own an online home business or full-fledged internet business you may find yourself affected by this disease which stops newbies and intermediate users in their tracks, although veterans may find themselves sometimes impacted as well.
Some people consider IOMS as being purely psychological, as in “the wall” that runners hit during a marathon. However, the malady really occurs as the result of individuals not understanding that true internet marketing may be considered a course of study and not merely some “get-rich-quick” tactics.

I need to know what kind of marketing, networking, email contacts, etc. that my wife can do from our computer while she’s at home with the kids? I make and sell rustic handmade log cabin furniture, mostly on the Internet.

I am the representative for 1154 LILL Studios here in Columbus, Ohio. I’m looking for ideas on how to promote LILL to local businesses as an employee or client event, in additon to the regular home parties. Further, I’m also looking for anyone in the area who is interested in and who has heard of LILL so that I can see what methods are the most effective for reaching the target audience.

Over the years there have been many strategies developed in the world of online marketing. Many of these have been tried, tested and true when it comes to starting your home based business. However, it should be noted that some of these strategies will only work for certain niche markets, whereas others are much more generic and work for many different types of business. There are a couple of strategies that, if done right, have the potential to get your business off to a great start. These stand a much better chance at getting you started than most of the other strategies out there. These strategies are affiliate marketing and network marketing and are briefly described below:
1:- Affiliate marketing is probably the best way to get your business off to a great start. This is due to the fact that you are leveraging off the work of other people and the time they will spend promoting your business for you. With affiliate marketing people will sell your product for you and have nothing to do with your company, your business or your product. They do this in exchange for a share in the profits. Clickbank is one of the biggest affiliate marketing websites. The incentives here are quite good. For example an affiliate can market a product that retails for say $50. of that the affiliate may get anywhere from $20-$40 from this sale. This does not stop you from selling your product and keeping 100% of the profit, but what it does mean is that you earn $10-$30 from each sale that they make for doing absolutely nothing.

One of the most effective and easiest ways to attract new clients is to get existing, loyal clients to buy more and additional products from you.
Think about it: you have already established a relationship with them so why not continue with that relationship?
Consistently offer them new and valuable products that reinforce the trust they have in your products and your small business.
Keep the communication (emails, newsletter, calls, videos, etc.) with your customers very informative so it doesn’t feel like you are hard selling them with each message.
