What are some Marketing Tips for a small business?

I manage a small flight school and have been trying to get more people to come fly with us….my target market has been identified as already licensed pilots looking for a new adventure and further training…I want to market specifically my tailwheel program….Do you have any suggestions as to what would work best for doing this…such as flyers, or tri-folds, or TV adds, etc….We have around a $1000 budget so whatever we do will have to be cost effective.

Thanks!

I am looking to start up either a home based business or a small community business. I would love any ideas!

My father has recently opened his own small business, a landscaping company. It’s a one-man show, he does all of the work, accounting, etc. At the end of the year, when it comes to tax-time and totaling, he is always scrambling to get everything together.

My father is not very computer savvy, and I’m looking for some quick and easy ideas for him to stay organized on a daily basis, so his end of the year isn’t so dreadful.

Although you probably do a lot for your business advertising, you might want to look at other options. It is always good to branch out. You can check around and see what else you might be able to do to reach other areas of the population.

If you are attempting to build up some recognition for your business then you need to get some communication or rapport going with your current and possible customers. To do this easily you can get people used to your logo through repetition. Big companies with deep pockets can use the TV and ads to do this. With a smaller budget you can do the same thing through the use of promotional products.

I have resaerched this for weeks now and can only find Multi-Level-Marketing firms online. So I thought I would take it to the people and see if anyone has become sucessful from their own home and how easy or hard it was to do.

I’m thinking of starting a side business that has to do with event planning and the like (everything from organizing parties to arranging photography, entertainment, etc.). I have a lot of experience in this regard, and this will not conflict with my day job.

What are some steps I should take to make sure this side business is a success?
Yep, I’ve been in the business awhile and have a lot of contacts. I just have to make sure that the side job does not conflict with the day job in any way as far as duties go.

Some Small Business Advertising Strategies

A small business enterprise must keep its potential as well as already established customers well informed about its activities. This is done through advertising, be it for new services or for continued  delivery of the same. Good advertising must meet the fundamentals of marketing, lest the message passed will have no impact whatsoever. Proper advertising can reap overwhelming responses.

To get some tips on how to have some eye catching advertisements, you could stick to a few simple and easy to remember rules. To begin with, use a single message while doing the advert. Your wording should be simple and that which can easily be understood by all. Nevertheless, avoid being too simple and devoid of catchy words. You do not want a very simple message that puts people off. Have some humor if possible and people will remember you for that.

I have been running a home based online travel business, specializing in trips to South America for about 3 years now. I am still trying to find out the best way to spend the money I set aside for marketing/advertising. I found out that trade shows are too expensive and do not produce results I’d hoped for. Is it worthwile hiring a PR/Marketing consultant?

I am involved with a small new business. Getting new customers is not easy. Newspaper ads are expensive. Are there any small business people who could give me some ideas on getting the word out there? any ideas on how to get people to try a new place?
