I am involved with a small new business. Getting new customers is not easy. Newspaper ads are expensive. Are there any small business people who could give me some ideas on getting the word out there? any ideas on how to get people to try a new place?

People willing to start small enterprises may get in a fix if they do not have the full information about the procedures or requirements of starting the venture. Much of this information is nevertheless available in the local libraries or from the Small Business Administration agency. One can also opt to go to small business counselors and be guided on what is required.

All the same, a few tips will do no harm to a starting entrepreneur. The first step that will ultimately lead to the creation of the enterprise is coming up with an idea on what you would like to offer to your clients. These may be goods or services. You could also choose to capitalize on a talent like painting and become a home decorator. Once the idea is in place, other things will follow, like coming up with an appropriate name for the enterprise.

I own an insurance agency, im looking for some ideas as far as advertising goes. I have a fairly small budget but am considering newspapers, billboards ect. Also, what are some ideas that i can do while im in the office working? I sent out postcards to local homeowners and i didn’t get a huge response. Please suggest for me some bigger ideas and also some smaller ones that i can utilize while i have free time.

What are some good home business that dont require alot of money to start up?? I was think an errand running business but because of the recession I dont know if that will do any good because people are trying to save money and doing things for themselves now. Some good ideas ? =) and Im not very computer technical..

Right now I work part time and until I get my narcolepsy taken care of I really can’t work a full time job. However, the pay just isn’t cutting it. I’d like to find some sort of job I can do at home to bring in some extra cash and to keep me busy. I’m not talking those earn thousands your first week schemes either.

In other words, the idea of what you want to engage in should be something that you have a passion for, not something you want to do simply because someone else is prospering in the same area. Once you have the idea in place, put it in writing and define how you plan to make it a reality. Once you have started off, you should be able to be committed to the venture. This is both in terms of time and money commitments.

Have recently started a small service business & wondering the best advertising for my buck. The Pennysaver, Craig’s List, a local newspaper? Any ideas? Can’t afford much until I start making money. I think that I have good idea in Stationery & gift business in Bangladesh as I have been involved in this business since 10 years. I am running this business as a Manager. But I independenly execute this business. As my salary is low, I like to do this business. I do not get any financial support from my family as we are very poor. Please advice me how to start business borrowing money. I need a source. We need at least US$10,000 to run the business smoothly. Hopefully I like to return this amount within 3 years.
